The resources within A to Exceptional have been developed by an experienced early years professional with almost three decades of experience, including more than 22 years in early years practice. Drawing on experience as a practitioner, manager, leader and owner of an early years setting recognised as Outstanding under the previous Ofsted framework, every resource is grounded in real-world practice and designed to support continuous improvement.

Alongside extensive experience in early years, the author has worked in training and inspection-based roles and contributed nationally to the UK Government's COVID Recovery Programme, supporting early years settings during a particularly challenging period. This breadth of experience has shaped resources that are practical, supportive and rooted in the realities of everyday practice.

Every document has been created to help childminders, early years professionals and school-based providers strengthen everyday practice, build confidence and prepare effectively for inspection.
